It's been a month since I contacted Rochford District Council to take action on the rat infestation in Rayleigh and unfortunately, residents are still reporting sightings of rats in the area.

Today I have spoken to officers at Rochford District Council to ask them to look at what I believe to be the root causes of the problem - litter and food waste. I am now told that the Environmental Health Department will be investigating further and will provide me with an update on their actions.

I will however continue to push the Council to get this problem under control once and for all.
