Despite our requests to Rochford District Council, additional air pollution monitoring was refused. To be honest I've never been good with rejection, so there was only one thing to do.... form an alliance between the Lib Dems, Rochford District Residents and the Green Party.
Self funding, we've set about our own monitoring across the Rochford District. It's been inspiring to have been met with such a positive reaction from our residents, whom we represent. It further reaffirms that they too want to know if they are being affected by harmful nitrogen dioxide in our congested areas.
Our alliance I hope is the start of building an 'army' to overcome the undemocratic processes of how important decisions are being made in our council.
